What is a Monsoon?

Definition of a Monsoon:

The Monsoons are winds that change direction with the seasons, blowing in steadily from one direction for as long as six months and then blowing from the opposite direction for the other six. These seasonal winds are the result of differing air pressures caused by the varied heating and cooling rates of continental landmasses and oceans. Winter monsoons associated with India and Southeast Asia are generally dry; summer monsoons in those regions are extremely wet.
